Before the technician arrives

A little preparation goes a long way toward a smooth, fast installation. Here is what to check.

Check your electrical panel

  • Available capacity — your meter should handle the additional load (minimum 10 kVA recommended)
  • Residual current device — a Type A or Type B RCD is required for wallbox installations
  • Panel space — make sure there is room for a dedicated circuit breaker

If your electrical installation is more than 20 years old, it may need upgrading first.

Choose the right location

  • Distance to panel — the shorter the cable run, the lower the cost
  • Vehicle access — the wallbox must be reachable from your parking spot
  • Weather protection — a sheltered location is ideal, although wallboxes are weatherproof (IP54)

Permits and approvals

  • Homeowner — no special permit required in most cases
  • Co-ownership — approval from the residents' association or management is needed
  • Tenant — written consent from your landlord is required

What to expect on installation day

The EVIA Solutions technician takes care of everything:

  • Dedicated circuit breaker and cabling
  • Wallbox mounting and connection
  • App configuration and full system test
  • Walkthrough of how it works, plus your compliance certificate

Installation typically takes 2 to 4 hours.
