The project

The owner of this contemporary villa in Gasperich wanted to reduce grid dependence while powering their electric vehicle from their own solar production.

The challenge

The multi-pitched roof limited the usable surface area. Every square metre had to be optimised while respecting the aesthetic requirements imposed by the housing development.

Our solution

  • Solar panels — 24 Jinko Solar Tiger Neo 440W modules (10.56 kWp) installed on two pitches facing south and south-west
  • Inverter — SMA Sunny Tripower 10.0 with power optimisers on partially shaded modules
  • Battery — BYD HVS 10.2 kWh for storage and overnight self-consumption
  • Wallbox — Wallbox Pulsar Plus 22 kW with dynamic load management, connected to the PV system

The entire system is managed by the SMA Sunny Home Manager 2.0, which prioritises vehicle charging when solar production exceeds household consumption.

Results

  • Estimated annual production: 9,800 kWh
  • Self-consumption rate: 78%
  • Annual savings: ~€2,400 on the electricity bill
  • Vehicle charging: 85% of charging energy comes from solar
  • Return on investment: estimated at 7 years thanks to PRIMe House subsidies and feed-in tariff
